A Builders Builder...
A veteran of Manchester’s house building industry used his expert knowledge and experience to pick his ideal new home in Newton Heath.
With more than 30 years experience in the building sector, Joe Peart bought a three-bedroom home at McInerney’s Zest development off Oldham Road. It is the ultimate seal of approval for McInerney’s quality and finish.
Joe says: "I’ve been on many development sites and you start to get a feel for what the venture is going to be like. I came to Zest and felt straightaway the development would be a nice place to live when completed."
Formerly of Roland Bardsley Homes, Joe has worked on new and refurbished homes throughout the Manchester area, especially in nearby Staley Bridge and Aston. His eye for a well made new home led him to Zest.
"I bought off plan after checking the quality of finish on Zest’s show home. The brickwork is neat, the perps are in line and the ground works were done cleanly," says Joe.
He also praises the layout of the development, which promotes a real sense of community with a good variety of homes and mix of people.
Initially Joe was on the lookout for an apartment, once he was able to sell his old two-bedroom terraced home. But using McInerney’s part exchange scheme he pushed his budget and reserved a three-bedroom semi-detached house at Zest.
Selling a house can typically cost an extra £2,000 in estate agent fees and £500 for a Home Information Pack (HIP). Joe was able to save a packet on estate agent fees – he already had a HIP - simply by signing up to McInerney’s part exchange scheme.
Joe says: "The part exchange took the worry away regarding the sale of my current home. I am pushing my budget a little but because it’s a modern energy efficient house I knew I’d save on bills. If I could afford the gas and heating bills in my old terraced house then I can definitely afford them in the new home!
"McInerney sales staff were great and helped my budget go even further with carpets and landscaping."
Joe will move into his new three-bedroom home in the summer. He is looking forward to pottering in the garden and using the third bedroom as a study for his hobby of creating intricate 3D paper pictures for family and friends.
He says: "There is little or no maintenance on a new home and with the carpets fitted and garden neat, I can move straight in. Anything else I can just take my time to do. McInerney really has made it easy for me."
McInerney Homes is transforming a former L’Oreal site into Zest, an eco-friendly community of 139 homes less than four miles from Manchester city centre. Next year Dean Lane Station will have a Metrolink, which means residents will be just four minutes from the city.
The price of a three-bedroom semi-detached family home at Zest starts at £135,995 or from £129,195 using McInerney’s 5% deposit scheme.
Drop in on Zest, in Newton Heath, Thursday through to Monday 11am to 5pm. For further information about the development call 0161 681 9013 or visit www.mcinerneyhomes.com.
