McInerney Homes NE really went to town in support of the Mayor of Sedgefield’s Annual Charity Golf Day last month.

Not only did the home building company, who has really started to make itself at home in the North East, sponsor the event – it also entered three teams and came up with a novel way to raise extra funds.

All of the teams received a branded hat to wear throughout the tournament – and in a bid to raise further funds, as well as their own profile, the company then donated money for every other entrant that wore a McInerney hat throughout the day.

Margaret Eadsforth , sales manager for McInerney Homes NE, came up with the idea:

"I have personally been involved in the sponsorship of the event for many years, firstly with Alexander Homes and now with McInerney Homes. It is such a worth while event, that we were keen to help further so we gave 150 hats away and contributed towards raising an additional £400 for a the Mayors chosen charity - 'The Childrens insulin pump appeal'. "
